A Lake Escape
There is so many good things to say about this place. We couldn’t believe how perfect A Lake Escape was when we got there. The place had everything one could ask for. The amenities was first class with all the personal touches you would need. If you want lakefront privacy then this is your place. There is a few stairs to climb to get down to the water but so worth the view! We are already planning our next trip!

“Beautiful cabin with a great view from the back deck. Very clean with great personal touches everywhere. We enjoyed the hot tub , fire pit, fireplace and pool table ! Great place for a family to spend time together in the mountains. We spent Christmas there because I lost my Dad due to a car wreck in Nov. Was a beautiful space to have my children around me! Even Santa found his way there! You don’t have to bring anything for cooking,Debbie has you covered ! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us !”

Cedar Top..

We were in town to attend a family wedding, and this was the perfect spot for our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable and well stocked. It was peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed the ping pong table and corn hole games that were provided. The beds and couch were comfortable and the place was nicely decorated for that mountain cabin feel. Debbie was very helpful and always available to answer any questions we had. We would definitely recommend Lakefront Cabins and the Cedar Top to others.

My family and I had a great time at the Ponderosa. The lake was a big hit with the kids. The best part for the adults was sitting on the porch every morning , with my coffee, and watching the sun come up. That was a beautiful site with the sun reflecting off the lake. A couple things we’d like to see added or upgraded would be: 1- a ladder on end of the dock for easy access back on after jumping in the lake 2- definitely need a large hot tub (this is the first cabin we have stayed in without one) 3- the living room sofas need replaced (very hard and uncomfortable) All in all a wonderful place and i would highly recommend the Ponderosa

My family and I had the pleasure of spending four wonderful nights in this beautiful lakefront home. First I’d like to mention how amazing the views are from this home. Waking up every morning and having a view of the mountains in the distance is something I won’t soon forget. This home is huge!! No fighting for space here. With three bedrooms upstairs and four bedrooms downstairs there is plenty of room for a large family or few families spending time together. There were only three of us in our party and we quickly realized we’d like to come back for a small family reunion in the near future. Everything you could need in the kitchen is provided. No need to worry about bringing anything from your kitchen. Outside the home was just as amazing!! There is a large wooden deck that encompasses the entire back of the house (upstairs & downstairs) There is a private floating dock and fire pit ready for use. But my favorite part of the outdoors were the deer that would literally be in the yard every morning and evening while they were eating. The pictures really don’t justify how beautiful this home is. My family and I have stayed at several cabin/homes in the Smokey Mountain area over the past several years and I can honestly say this is by far the nicest of them all!! We will be booking again in the very near future and greatly look forward to our return.

We spent a week at driftwood with friends and loved every minute. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. Much better than some cabins we have stayed in. We had a problem with the WiFi when we first got there. We emailed Debbie and she had it fixed promptly. Debbie was wonderful to answer any questions and went out of her way to mark sure our stay was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful cabin not for seniors with walking issues..
Review by Roberts Retreat on 5/3/17 8:52 PM IP Address: 107.77.94.35
Cabin was very nice, tastefully decorated, and in a very quiet area of the lake. As seniors we had some issues. The bedroom being up steep stairs, not a user friendly hand rail and no bathroom upstairs caused us to be unable to use the bedroom. My husband slept on swinging bed on the porch and I used an elevated air bed we had in our truck. Stairs to the garage had no handrail on either side also making it difficult. We walked down to the dock only to find gate locked and not accessable. This beautiful cabin is for younger couples and we would highly recommend it.
Enjoyable Stay!..

The cabin itself was nice, the couch could use replacing sank in it like springs broke. The bees were really bad, don’t think if I had children they would have been as tolerable. The firepit was a distance from the cabin by the lake which might be ok when the water is up, so we didn’t use it, maybe another one closer to the cabin would be nice. Overall was a good place to stay.

Castaway Cove – What can i say..
Review by Rossiters – June 2017 on 4/21/17 5:56 PM IP Address: 92.238.198.230
Castaway Cove – What can i say.. The home is very nice but with a little effort from the owners could be a very very special place to stay. I don’t want to be too critical and would definitely not put anybody off staying here as it is a really special home however i have been requested to review the place so her goes. Firstly – the home is spacious, clean and tidy so no worry’s there but an update of outside furnishings, bed sheets & towels would not go amiss – clean but a little shabby and worn is how i would put it. The external trim on screen doors, pest control ( big problem with bees) should also be looked into to improve the outside space. The bee infestation did not bother us as we were all comfortable with bees nesting i the eves of the property however i could see some family’s being concerned and in particular with young children playing outside. The owner has offered the hire of Canoes ,Kayaks & Pedola which are secured to the accommodations floating dock but to be honest the high hire cost is an instant put off and feel if these were just offered as part of the stay and lost in the property hire cost then the service would add to the stay rather than becoming an unwelcome add on. I also think that having to put your generated garbage in a dumpster site a few of miles from the site should be highlighted prior to taking up the hire agreement. Anyhow – that’s it for criticism and the positives far outweigh these minor negative points – i say again, if you have booked or intend too then don;t be put off from my words – the place is great and you will have a special stay here.. Kindest Regards S R

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. There was plenty of room and it was clean and neat. It had a big porch, hot tub and pool table. The only problem was at first there was a smell of sulfur when we ran the showers but it improved. It was possibly due to the drought. We would definitely stay here again.

Response: Thank you so much for your review. It is appreciated. I hope you come to visit at sunset breeze again. It would be nice if you could see the lake in the summer months.

We just came home from our stay at the Roberts Retreat. Beautiful cabin…. stairs are a little challenging going down toward inside garage door. they were not thought out well, and you have to lean over to reach door handle, as it is only about 3 ft from floor. and no hand rail going down, kinda weird. And going down to dock was a huge challenge. the steps (concrete) are steep and a flimsy rail only on one side. then you get to wooden decking steps, and we understand about the water level messing with the dock, but it was very difficult to get to dock. guests should be aware of the issues with getting to dock. in case of age related issues (walking or balance), or handicap. because some may not be able to use dock or lakefront. Coffee pot takes 30-40 minutes to make a pot of coffee. but all in all it was ok. beautiful lake and privacy. And it is funny that we were expected to clean up most everything before we left. as far as stripping beds, dishes and carting garbage off. when we were being charged a cleaning fee.

We had a great time. It was secluded but not far from pigeon forge. I think the vents for the air conditioning need cleaned out. Some of them were blocked out with insulation. Other than that it was great. I would recommend putting a strap around outside garbage can to keep rocky the raccoon from causing you to pick up garbage in the morning. Lol. The views of the lake are breathtaking. I will be back. We stayed August 1-5 2016

Angle Cove..
Review by Mike on 7/24/16 9:23 PM IP Address: 107.77.90.107
The location of the cabin provided easy access to several local attractions. The view of the lake was incredible, and we enjoyed the privacy. The steep incline to the boat dock was challenging, and the fact that it was not discussed in the description of the property was disappointing. If we had been older or had worse knees, we would not have been able to make the climb again and again. The air conditioning froze on us one night, as described in the book. This tells us that you are aware of ongoing issues with the system. The book also mentioned that we could be charged for possible maintenance calls. The renters are not responsible for property maintaining the system, and since you are aware of the issue, you should find a service technician that can repair or replace the system properly. This issue results from poor servicing. The unit is clearly low on freon, which would cause it to freeze up. For a properly maintained system, cooling to 70 degrees should be easily obtained.
REsponse: We are so glad you enjoyed Angel Cove, its an amazing home. The air conditioner has been replaced. However, there was a short time frame from it starting to cause problems and getting it ordered and then getting here and installed can’t happen overnight so we did have a few days of issues with it. This was not from neglect, it was just the normal waiting process of getting the heat/air company getting it here and installed. Some things just can’t be done immediately. Again we do apologise and so happy you enjoyed your stay.

Response: Thank you Katie for visiting us at Hidden Point. It is a wonderful property and those views are amazing. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and be looking for ward to your return stay.

We stayed in this adorable cabin May 27 – May 31, 2016. My very best friend and her friend came up to visit me and we rented a lake cabin to spend the weekend hanging out away from the craziness in all our lives. Old Homeplace was absolutely perfect! It was super clean and welcoming when we arrived and provided everything we needed to stay there and not have to drive into town for food or fun. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves with no worries! The only “problem” was the lock box for the gate key was a little tricky….but we claimed that to be operator error. We will definitely we renting from Lakefront Cabins again and again!!
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words, Getting together with old friends is so heartwarming. I am so glad you enjoyed Old Homeplace and we will expect to see you there again to visit.

The cabin was wonderful! Nestled away and very private. Very nice and clean. Water levels were down but still enough for swimming and fishing. We were made aware of water levels. If not sure ask. We drove to the aquarium during our stay, drive was not bad from cabin. We will definitely stay with these renters again. This is our second year staying with them and have used two different cabins. Both experiences were great!!

Twin Point..
Review by Eric on 5/19/16 6:19 PM IP Address: 50.149.168.165
Very nice, fully outfitted cabin. Clean and comfortable. Great beds. Water was up enough for the dock to accommodate 2 boats. Having the launch ramp on the property was a great asset. The power outlet at the light pole down near the dock wasn’t working even though the light did work. Luckily we had long enough lines to run power from the cabin to our boats. When notified about this, the owner came over to check it out very quickly. Since we had cords that reached our boats he planned to fix it after we left, which was fine with us. I expect it’s already fixed. AC is not balanced in that the upstairs is comfortable but the basement is very cold. OK for sleeping though. Will seriously consider this location again in future years.
Response: thank you Eric for the so kind review. Twin Point is a very nice property. Hope to see you again

Best “fishing cabin” ever. All five of us were very impressed, automatically approved for next year. We will be reserving when we check our calendars. Decorum was very artistic, yet mountain mystique as well. Cabin was well stocked and outside kitchen area was incredible just sorry weather prevented us from using it more. Having a dishwasher was excellent, but should be replaced by next season. The bottom rack is rusted and doesn’t run smoothly. We were unable to balance the heating in the lower level and make n floor. This was probably ignorance on our part. We will be back for many years to come. .

Review by Robbie on 4/5/16 2:54 AM IP Address: 192.230.177.178
The cabin was very nice. It’s a little tricky getting two boats in the driveway. You do have to back down the driveway with a boat. The kitchen is very nice. The grill was really good. There are plenty of hookups outside for charging your batteries. We were not able to use the dock or local access due to the water level being down. It was at 968 when we were there. It probably needs to be around 980 for the dock to be useful and the local access. It was a great cabin all around.
Response: Robbie , thank you for visiting Castaway Cove and so happy you enjoyed it. The first week of April is a little early for docks and ramps to be usable still, it does have to get a little later in the month for lots of the cabins on Douglas Lake to be accessable. Hope to see you here again
Driftwood Home..
Review by Douglas on 4/4/16 10:17 AM IP Address: 199.15.170.116
Probably one of the nicer mountain homes I have stayed in. Perfect size. The only issue we had was we were informed that the private ramp and boat dock were not currently in water. But at no point did they include anything about the cove being completely void of water. DID NOT have the water views they advertised. Cove is very small and all we had was views of trailers. If the cabin is void of water for 9 months of the year, include that in your description and include pictures of the property when the water is not full pool so a renter knows exactly what to expect. Would rent this house again, but would only when full pool.
Response: Jim, We are so happy you enjoyed the Driftwood cabin, it is really very nice. Our web page does in face tell you exactly how the water levels are in off season. It exactly says this home has water access late April til Late August /early September. Other than that there is no water here. we even talked about it on the phone. Its great to know you will be visiting Driftwood again during those times. thank you for visiting

Review by Maggie on 4/3/16 8:28 PM IP Address: 108.171.131.164
We thought the cabin was really pretty and spacious. Enjoyed the view and the upstairs bedrooms were really cute. Loved all the books and the board games. Loved that there was no WI-FI. The kids were forced to hang out with us. The cabin in very clean; back porch is awesome.. Just a few things: there is only one set of keys. We accidentally locked ourselves out and then found out that the cabin offices didn’t have a second set. It was resolved; but hope they make duplicates. Coffee maker needs replaced. But the house is gorgeous and we would rent it again. Outside spot lights aren’t functioning right or we couldn’t find the switch; so it’s pretty dark to come home at night. The cabin is awesome though.
Response: Thank you Maggie for the kind review. We are so happy you enjoyed Stillwater Cove. WE have a new coffee Maker and we hope you will come again.

Our family stayed at Hidden Point cabin this past week… It’s absolutely wonderful! The cabin is beautiful, clean and well equipped with what we needed. The lake was drained a bit, but still beautiful with abundant deer and birds all around. The only complaint would be that there was tons of debri and garbage where the lake levels are low… I’m sure they will be cleaned up soon tho! The cabin is very private and peaceful and we highly recommend it to anyone!! We plan to return often:) we loved the wrap around porch and seating.

With a somewhat last-minute decision, our extended family was looking for a location for a family gathering, after having lost a daughter/sister/wife/mother/ grandmother just a year ago and to celebrate our mother/grandmother’s 92nd birthday. Angel Cove was perfect. Secluded and quiet. Lots of room for different family activities. Extremely well equipped kitchen and LOTS of great board games. Beautiful view of lake, which was down, BUT house is far enough up the hill to still have a gorgeous view. Very clean. The setting and the house were just perfect for us . . .helped to facilitate both the healing and celebratory processes. We thought the three-day rental was a very good value. Web site was helpful, and interactions with staff were positive and prompt.
Response: We are so happy to know your enjoyed Angel Cove cabin but mostly appreciate knowing your family has had some healing time and making new memories. Hope you come back to Angel Cove for even more memories. . It is wonderful . thank you so much for your kind remarks, it is appreciated .

I do have a question for the owners of the cabin. If I have to do my own dishes, and make sure they are washed and put away, why is there not a dishwasher? I would not eat from the dishes without washing them first, wondering if the person before me actually washed them well and if their hands were clean! Gross. My idea of vacation is not washing dishes by hand!
Response: We are so sorry you there is not a dishwasher in Chapel Cove, however you knew that when you booked. I thought everyone still washed dishes by hand on occasion, we certainly do here. Since we spoke on the phone its great to know you loved the cabin other than washing the dishes.

We had a wonderful stay at Waters edge, although the water had receeded down we had fun finding drift wood and rocks on the shore. Great deck to hang out on. Cabin was beautful, I really liked the screened porch area which was great for children to play and eat. Everyone had their own bathroom. There was a highchair already there, we used so we did not have to pack ours (although it was really dirty, I cleaned it up). I was disappointed that they did not give us more than 2 dishwasher tablets, would have given 5 star. It was very inconvenient hand washing the dishes for all of the family, the nearest store was…very far and the corner store did not carry dishwasher soap. Tip, bring your own dishwashing detergent, get milk before you get off the dandridge exit because the corner store did not carry milk. Would stay here again! The place was clean and scenic.
Response: Thank you for visiting , and thank you for your very nice review. Our instructions for check in however does tell you to bring all your soap and paper products. The dishwasher soap is an extra bonus we leave so we do not provide those fro the entire stay. Again so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you soon.

My husband and I stayed at Our Cabin on 9/20-9/25/15 for our 1st Anniversary the home is beautiful, views are amazing and sunsets to take your breath away. The trek down and up from the lake is very steep as stated, but wasn’t bad if you took your time and was well worth it to enjoy the wonderful lake. We brought our boat and were able to dock it below the house even with the low lake levels. We could not use most of dock though due to lake levels but it was still accessible and we even caught a few catfish from it. I would only suggest a good cleaning of all the decks, a new hose handle as the one down by the dock was broken, and maybe some new pans for the kitchen cause like all rentals these things wear out fast. We plan to return next summer so we can see and enjoy the lake when levels are up and most definitely will book thur Lakefront Cabins. A big thanks to Debbie for all your help!

Dream Hideaway was a great little cabin for our family in a perfect location just above the pool and boat ramp. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior – much nicer than what it appeared online. We really enjoyed the no TV and no internet which really helped encourage family time and disconnect from our day to day. There were tons of fun games and the dvd library was great for evenings once the kiddos went to bed. Beds were pretty comfy and lots of pillows and extra blankets. There are only a few items that would have made the long weekend even better: there were no scrubs to wash the dishes, the knives were pretty dull, and there was no gas in the grill. I believe the manual said to purchase a tank when you emptied it, but since there was no gas when we arrived, purchasing a new tank for just 3 nights just didn’t make lots of sense so we decided to do stir fry instead of shish-kabobs Overall, a great stay and great cabin and location. Debbie who helped us find the rental and coordinated logistics was very friendly. I would definitely recommend to others, and hope to visit again soon.

We very much enjoyed our end of the summer week in the cabin. We loved that the cabin was stocked with almost all of the essentials (minus a toaster). We spent the week on the lake thanks to H20 Sports just down the road. Everyone there was nice and helpful and you can get multi day rental discounts. The cabin was plenty big enough for myself, my wife and out two teenagers. Its nice when everyone gets their own room even while on vacation. We had an issue with a locked bathroom door and the management and cleaning crew called back within minutes to solve the problem. It was a relaxing week in a beautiful cabin with a beautiful view. Access to the water from the cabin could have been easier, but we made it without a problem. If Douglas Lake comes up on our vacation radar again, we would use Lakefront Cabins again for another wonderful vacation.

This was our first vacation trip to the State of Tennessee, and will not be our last. The cabin is beautifully located on Douglas Lake over looking a quiet back bay of the reservoir with more than an antiquate depth of water to boat, ski, and tube on. My grandchildren swam from the dock in the warm, safe water. Our boat was safe from and wake from the nearly non-existent watercraft during our week long stay. The cabin itself was extremely clean and cool. The deck overlooks the bay with great views of the sunset in this very rustic setting. I cannot report any inconvenience or short comings of the property. It is without question that I recommend this property for any small group for a week stay. We are planning on a return in the summer of 2016. A.L. Gilson Captain, USN, Retired

This is the second year in a row we have used this location and had so much fun the first year we added an extra night onto this years trip to make it four nights. The cabin is great for couples and allows everyone to have a nice size bedroom and their own bathroom. We spend every evening on the large screened in deck/porch and cook on the grill. One day is always spent on the lake and very convenient to Bristol and golf is also enjoyed in Seiverville. Very well maintained cabin and kitchen is well stocked for practical use. We will be BACK!!!

We absolutely loved our stay. We had three families from three different states and we all had a wonderful time. So much so that we are actively coordinating our schedules to rent it again next year. That is really saying something when 11 people, aged from 4 – 56 all want to repeat next year! The cabin was exactly as it is pictured, clean and well stocked. The boat ramp is rather steep, but I had no problem pulling my 18′ runabout out with a front wheel drive SUV. The hot tub and pool table provided hours of fun for teenagers and adults. We did have one issue with the well pump and management had a plumber onsite within 20 minutes, at 7:40 am! Great job! Overall fantastic experience and we can’t wait for next year.

We just spent a week here with 8 adults and a 3 year old and 10 month old. Loved there were four king beds – our 6’5″ son-in-law was especially happy that he didn’t have to have a smaller bed. Bedrooms were nice size – able to put a blow up bed in one for the 3 year old and a pack-n-play in one for the ten month old. Really appreciated the second refrigerator on the porch – put pop and drinks here and had two freezers to store ice in for a daily trips on the water. The path down to the water was steep, but we knew this ahead of time and the owners provide a gator which was a huge help with the little ones and hauling coolers down. Some of us walked up and down for the exercise Enjoyed the wrap around porch – the weather was very warm so the fans on the porch were put to good use. Had two cars and two trucks and was worried about parking, but there was plenty of room There were plenty of towels, pilllow, cooking utinsels, etc. Owners were very helpful and responded to problems quickly – the upstairs air-conditioner broke down, but was fiixed within a few hours so no big problem. We loved our time here. We rented a pontoon and were shocked at how little traffic there was on the lake , next time we will rent one we can pull a tube with.http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/kentucky/10-restaurants-in-ky/

This was our first trip to Douglas Lake and we loved our accommodations at Lazy Bear Cabin. We will likely be back to stay in Lakefront Cabins.

We enjoyed our visit to Angel Cove. The house was perfect for our family. The hill was steep to climb but worth the effort. The lay out was very good for us. The beds were comfortable and plenty of water for everyone to take showers. We were in TN for a family reunion so we spent a lot of our time at the reunion site and on Lake Douglas. It was easy for us to find our way around for shopping and other fun things to do. We hope to move to Tn soon. We will recommend Angel Cove to our friends. Many thanks

This was our family’s second stay with Lakefront Cabins. This year we stayed at the Driftwood. We absolutely loved it!!! The cabin was beautiful as well as the view of the lake. We really enjoyed the private boat dock and ramp. There was even a little area for the kids to swim in the lake by the dock. Most of the complaints I have read from other reviews (ie. paper products, soap, trash etc.) are items that are clearly listed in the rental agreement as not being provided. I guess if you want unlimited items you should stay at a hotel not a cabin. The only flaw we found in the cabin was the toilet seat in the main bathroom was loose. It just needs a new plastic screw on the seat. We will definitely be looking to rent this cabin again next year!!! A big shout out to Lakefront Cabins and their clean, beautiful cabin rentals!!!!

The property was exactly what we wanted. On the lake, lake view, pier to relax on and read, and just watch the boat traffic go by. The house was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. The highlight was on the Fourth of July, we sat on the deck with a bowl of popcorn, and a bottle of wine and watched all the fireworks from around the lake. Both neighbors with fireworks and we were able to see the fireworks displays from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville.

Beautiful home tucked away in a quiet cove on Lake Douglas. Property was clean and well kept. Blinds on the bedroom windows would be a good addition to the home, as well as replacing the outdoor lights that no longer lit up at dusk. Only steps away from the lake, home provided a good dock for our boat. If you bring a larger boat, you would want to use a marina, and not the community launch- it was very small and hard to back a larger craft into the lake. We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet get away on the lake.

My family and I just got back from a weekend stay at Roberts Retreat. We had a wonderful time and was well satisfied with our choice of cabins. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We loved the swinging bed on the screened in porch. It was very private and quiet, didn’t have to worry about our children being too loud. The only complaint that I would have would be the LONG HAUL down to the dock. It was extremely hard on my parents to get up and down the steep stairs. Also, not a fan of the stainless steel cookware. Overall, a very nice place, would recommend to anyone.

We have just returned from a weekend at the Old Homestead. It is a charming cabin, very clean and with great access to the dock & lake. It rained quite a bit, but the large porch overlooking the lake was great even in pouring down rain. Our grandsons were able to take a canoe ride. There is little insulation as far as noise so you need to love the persons upstairs. Overall, we had a great time.

We absolutely loved our family time at Driftwood! Debbie was so friendly and quick to respond through emails. We loved the layout of the cabin – it was more of an open floor plan than we thought, but it was perfect for our vacation. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and catching bluegills with the kids. The porch and hot tub were awesome!! We liked having the volleyball ner and horseshoes as well. The pool table was used nightly by dads and kids – so much fun! We aren’t big pool players so we didn’t care too much about the tips. The beds were not comfortable but we didn’t care. A larger garbage outside would have been nice but we understand that too much outside garbage could have attracted critters. We just made sure to take our garbage anytime someone was headed to town. New cushions on the rocking chairs outside would make sitting out in the evenings even more pleasant. Overall, we loved our time at driftwood and only wish we could have stayed longer than a week. Thanks for helping us make great family memories!!

We stayed at the Ponderosa and had a wonderful time. It had plenty of space for our large family. The only negative comments we have would be the mattress on the lower level of the bunk bed and the mattresses for the 2 roll away beds. They were not fit to be slept on. We had brought air mattresses as a back up in case we ran into problems so we were no effected by this issue. Besides that, it was absolutely wonderful!!! I would highly recommend the Ponderosa and Douglas Lake. We had a pleasant experience with lakefront cabins and the owner of the cabin. We are already planning on returning in a few years. Also, we brought our own speed boat and rented a pontoon from Lighthouse Marina. We had a good experience with Lighthouse Marina too!!!

The Fishing Family had an awesome, fantastic fun time on Douglas lake and off the lake, there were plenty of fish around the dock for the kids and grandkids to fish and swim, we enjoyed the beautiful colorful sunsets every evening. Yes we would love to come back someday, the only thing we did not care for was the long exhausting walk up and down the stairs that were falling apart to the awesome dock. But it was all good exercise for us. Great place too stay the beds were great, big bathrooms didn’t care for the sulfur water either.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunset Breeze. The water levels were low, but that’s understandable this early in the season and the dock was still floating. We were able to do a little fishing and hang out by the water. The hot tub is a fun addition overlooking the lake and we enjoyed it. The cabin is also close enough to town that driving in to see the sights isn’t a problem. Next time, we’ll bring some movies and games for rainy, cool evenings. Overall, we loved the cabin and will definitely stay again.

We stayed at Angels Cove in late December and had a terrific time. The cabin was cleaned and ready to go when we arrived. There were more than enough linens and pillow to satisfy everyone’s needs. There was a great supply of pots/pans/Tupperware, and utensils to cook a great meal for 14 people. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Would be nice to upgrade the TVs but that wasn’t a big deal overall. We had a really great time and were very happy with Angels Cove.

Cabin was as expected from the internet, nothing special but on the water. Would have loved to visit when the water was up, but we were still able to have the boat in the water during October due to the floating dock. Hard to turn around a large truck, much less a boat too in the driveway; there is also a gate at the entrance that was unexpected from the website description; both were manageable though. Make sure you read all the Q&A and information on the website to ensure you bring your own paper products and soaps along with the payment policy. Husband loved the cabin and we had a great vacation visiting all the surrounding areas.
Robert’s Retreat..
Review by Jon & Dana on 10/30/14 7:21 PM IP Address: 68.62.61.38
My husband and I stayed late in the season at Robert’s Retreat on Douglas Lake (late October). The cabin was clean, well stocked and furnished with comfortable high end furnishings; we felt cozy and very much at home. Our absolute favourite spot to be was on the swinging bed out on the porch. Even though the nighttime lows dipped in to the upper 40’s and low 50’s, we slept out on that bed two of our four nights. We lounged out there in the sun during day as well. We can’t say enough about how truly awesome that porch space alone is! We loved the quaint little kitchen and the ability to prepare our meals together in it. We absolutely loved everything about the area this time of year! The lake was low, but we are not water sports people; we prefer to enjoy the beauty and tranquility from the shore. We enjoyed that we pretty much had the lake to ourselves. We explored the steep banks of the lake where the water had receded for hours. It was quiet and peaceful – just exactly what we needed. We appreciated knowing that tips for the cleaning service are accepted and appreciated. We have stayed places before where we didn’t know if it was acceptable to leave a tip or where a safe place to leave a tip might be. The provided envelope let us know with certainty that it was okay and that if we decided to leave something that it wouldn’t be lost or overlooked. We never felt as though it was expected. Our only minor complaint is the incredibly steep drive to get back down to the cabin. It was hard on our little car. We scraped bottom trying to get back up the incline and even though our car is a manual transmission, we spun relentlessly on the loose gravel. It was not enough to deter us from returning or to ding the overall rating! We do understand the terrain in the mountains is steep and rugged… it was just one area we felt that perhaps a consideration for improvement might be made for future. Debbie handled our reservations and a couple of questions with prompt and courteous responses. We really are quite pleased with our first experience with Lakefront Cabins; we will absolutely be returning to Robert’s Retreat next year.
Response: Jon and Dana, thank you so much for your wonderful remarks about Roberts Retreat. We love it too. so so glad to hear you will be coming back to visit there next year. This is the first season this home has been a rental and it was rented all season so the owner could not get the driveway paved. She is doing that prior to next season on the steep part so hopefully that will take care of any spinning that you had this year. Again, thank you so much for visiting and looking forward to next year.

Reservation was easy.. Had great views of the mountains. Was semi secluded which was really nice. It was great for our “Girls Weekend.” The lakehouse was impeccably clean and nicely decorated. Bed’s were somewhat soft. The only thing if I did not like was the trash issue. They want you to remove trash from premises which I think is totally ridiculous, We left at 7am on Monday to drive home and had to put trash in our car because the trash place did not open till 9 a.m. Also, the dumpster site was closed on Sunday. Luckily, we found a store that let us throw the trash in their dumpster. We had a 9 hour ride home and did not want to have trash in our car that long. That policy is CRAZY!!!
Response: We are so happy you enjoyed Pirates Place and the views. As far as trash goes there is a note in the guests book ASKING if it is convenient as you come and go if you can drop your bag (s) on the way to and from the cabins as there is always dumpsters right along the road on your way. There is also the times that the dumpsters are open in the guests books so you can clearly see that prior to going out the door with it. We have many cabins to clean and we too have to use those same dumpsters. If guests checks out when they are closed on sundays and guests have not dropped some of their trash thru the week then we too have no where to go with trash. ( lots and lots of trash) We do not only have your one cabins trash but trash for many cabins. This being the problem. We also have no place to put it. Hence, the reason for asking for your help if you don’t mind. We do not tell you that you have too. Other rentals on the lake charge you per bag that is left at the cabin. We obviously do not do that. We only ask for your help if your willing. Thank you for visiting with us.

upon arriving at Roberts retreat the couple before us had not checked out yet. our family was faced with an unhappy couple who thought they had paid for another night. understand that was there mistake not lakefront property. but we felt like they should have confronted the couple, not let us walk into that situation. no one from the office was there. luckily the couple was nice to us and only angry at the office people. cabin was very nice and clean. well stocked. was told it was easy to get to this cabin. the steep grade was so steep that we could not get our car down there without scraping the whole bottom of car, so we had to walk up the hill every time we left. The trip was o.k. I don’t think we will ever come back to these cabins, and we come once or twice a year to Tennessee.
Response: We called and talked to you mid morning the day of your check in and explained to you that the older couple who were to have checked out , their belongings were still there when housekeeping went to clean. We tried calling and left them messages all day. we left a note at the cabin for them. we drove out there also trying to get them. We obviously could not just sit all day waiting for them. We have apologized to you and gave you a late check out to compensate for the 1 hour delay in getting you in the cabin. You were well aware of the situation many hours prior to your arrival. This is not something we could have prevented and if guests don’t answer phones or are not at the cabin we can’t speak of them of course. Thank you for visiting but again we did and do apologize for your inconvenience but occassionally things do happen that is out of anyones control. I certainly do hope everything is perfect the next time you travel.

Stayed in Country Oasis in the spring and was very pleased with the cabin. However, when we came back in early October, we weren’t as impressed. I don’t know if the cleaning service has changed since then but the cleanliness of the cabin was subpar. My husband got out the broom and swept the entire cabin after he found what appeared to be pubic hair in the bathroom floor. We were sitting on the couch one morning and a roach ran across the floor toward the tv. My husband smashed it with a shoe. There was only one clean dish towel to be found. Apparently the owners have recently purchased a water softener because the water no longer had the sulfurry smell it did in the spring and the water was very soft. However, every time you ran water or flushed the commode there was a loud moaning and growling sound coming from the utility room area, we presumed from the water filter. In addition, the same thing, but worse, happened in the middle of the night, what we presumed was the filter cycling through the cleaning stages. As other reviewers have mentioned, renters pay a cleaning fee so the tip envelope left on the counter was vert tacky, especially with the problems we listed above. Overall, the cabin is in a great location and very private, just need to make a few corrections.
Response: WE are so glad you returned to Country Oasis. Yes the owner has purchased a water system for the house. the sulfur water is gone. Thats what guests ask for . with a water system, yes, it has to run and it has to back flush . tip, Most people do tip for persons working in the service industry , this is normal. Our housekkeeping staff as do all others in the industry appreciate it. however if its not something you wanna do then just don’t. No one said you had too .

We really liked the cabin. Everything was well appointed and maintained. Appreciated the great parking area and really loved the steps down to the lake and the floating dock. We were there in October and the water was pretty low, but we had access to the water from the dock. Feel like I gotta make some suggestions so I’ll say it needs WiFi and the Teflon skillet needs replacing. Also, as others have pointed out we paid a cleaning fee so a tip envelope was inappropriate. All around we had a great stay and will probably return.

My husband and I took a late vacation and decided to find a cabin on Douglas lake as we did last year. We finally decided on Chapel Cove because it offered everything we were looking for and at an affordable price. We took our small dog along and were happy with the cleanliness and the cabin. Since it was late in the season the lake had already dropped more than I expected so the view was good but if we were earlier in the season it would have been better. My husband is an avid bass fisherman so it looked and sounded like a great place for all our needs. The only complaint I have is about the launch. When I read the description it sounded great but the launch was from the bank only. No ramp or concrete to put the boat in or pull out. It was muddy and rocky so pulling the boat out of the water was a mess. It was more of a hassle than he wanted to deal with so that put a damper on his experience. I would suggest the owners invest in a dock or even a concrete slab to make it easier. That being said I do understand the lake had been dropped so maybe in the summer season it may be easier. Overall we had a great and relaxing time which was the point of the entire trip. I would definitely go back to Chapel Cove but during the summer season.

We like the view and the house is good enough size fro 6 people. Extra mattresses and cots were available for use. Provided bath soap (Ivory) for each bathroom- thank you. No extra pillow cases for lots of extra pillows. Lake water was low when we visited so dock was hard to get to which they informed us ahead of time.. Towels and sheets had sour smell but washer and dryer are available however, no detergent to use. Quite a distance to get to the store to buy detergents. We laundered the towels and pillow cases the following day. Bring your own pillow cases, dish soap, laundry detergents. Complete kitchen amenities to use but need to was before us. most are dusty and has dead bugs. Refrigerator has issue with keeping closed – kept opening. We enjoyed our stay – it is a quality time spent with family. This is our 6th year renting from Lakefront Cabins. Can’t get it perfect all the time. Last time we stayed at another cabin during winter – there was no hot water and no one ever came in to fix it after we called multiple times. You make the best out of it and concentrate on the quality time with family.

My family really enjoyed your Ponderosa cabin this past weekend. it was well stocked with linens and kitchen items. We NEVER located a cutting board for the three days we were there. i would suggest placing it out on the counter or people will end up cutting on your counter tops. Views were great, would love to see adirondacks around the fire pit or some sort of chairs. Beds were very comfortable. Cabin was impeccably clean. I would NOT want to arrive at this cabin at night as it is a long winding road to get there. Would absolutely stay their again, really appreciated the Wifi as well!!!!

We were in TN to attend the wedding of our niece. We stayed at Sunset Breeze. A nice cabin with a great view. The cabin was clean for the most part. There were dirty towels in the washer when we got there. We ended up washing them with some of our clothes which was not a big deal. Just something for the cleaning staff to watch when they close up after cleaning. The cabin amenities were okay. I would suggest to the owners to provide an ironing board. There is an iron but no board or at least we couldn’t find it. I would also recommend providing wifi for customers. It would have been nice to have been able to bring my laptop or tablet. Most places provide this for their patrons now a days. Overall, it was a nice place to stay for a short visit to the Smokies and Douglas Lake.
Response: all our cabins have a list of amenites on each cabin page. Sunset Breeze does not have internet listed.

We had 4 couples stay her for 3 nights and everyone had a great time. The cabin is big enough to give everyone their own space and privacy in their own bedrooms but also cozy enough to have fun together. The deck on the back is a fantastic view and we spent a lot of time out their using the grill. 2 couples went on to spend a great day on the lake and 2 others took a drive into Pigeon Forge. We will be back!!
Douglas Lake getaway..

We traveled to TN to visit our recently married daughter and son-in-law and stayed in Dream Hideaway on Douglas Lake for a long weekend. We had a lovely time! The cabin was clean and well furnished. The mattresses (except for the pull out couch) were very comfortable! Our favorite part of the cabin was the wrap around porch with a view of the lake/pool/woods. We especially enjoyed time on the swing, rockers, and hot tub on the porch and playing games at the kitchen table. We used the grill to cook dinners, and all appliances in the kitchen worked well. We do have a couple of recommendations. The cabin needs a decent knife set. There were steak knives, but only one large knife which was broken. Also, it would be helpul if the location of sheets, blankets, towels, etc. was listed to avoid searching for them. It would also be nice to have an extra chair or two for the table. The cabin is listed as sleeping six (which it does with a hide-a-bed and air mattress), but there are only four chairs for the table. Those are just a few suggestions, though. Overall, it was a lovely cabin, and we had a wonderful time!
Great View but that’s all..

The view was great; however, very dangerous trying to get down to dock. The linens provided were not clean; towels smelled sour. Information on how to use TV and lights were missing. Would not recommend this cabin to anyone. However, would consider returning to the area. Absolutely beautiful location.
Response: Guests called office at 10 pm , said they could not get tv to work nor lights. We went to the cabin at 10 pm when they called. they had the imput buttoms on both tvs to dvd not tv. We tried to explain to them on the phone but could not understand what we meant. The kitchen light has a fan kit. the light on the fan kit has a chain to pull to turn on and off, it was off. When they turned the light switch it did not come on . so we pulled the chain and it worked fine. the linens, were fresh washed of course and I even offered to bring them home and rewash them at this time of night and bring back in the morning. there were others there. They said no. Dock. There are steps to the dock, with rails. Both guests were in late 80″s , she was kind he was not at all kind. a mean spirit about him. so, I will chalk this one up to that. There was no issue at the cabin except with age of guests but we will all be there one day so they did not bother us at all.

We enjoyed our trip for the most part the house was ok. I was very disappointed in the cleaning service you use, they left the towels in the dryer. The grass hadn’t been mowed. The house on the outside was covered in spider webs. I was also disappointed that the bedrooms didn’t have TV’s. The roof leaks in the upstairs bedroom that has the balcony. One the reasons we chose this house was the pool table, but there was no chalk for the sticks and the table was sitting in a way you couldn’t play on one side. The basement was not set up the way the pictures showed. We do want to come back to Douglas Lake but I don’t care to stay at that house again. I was very disappointed to walk in and find a bottle of wine on the table, not everybody drinks and we had a preacher with us.

This place is just beautiful! Right on the lake with a floating dock. Great hot tub, and swing on back porch. Really nice cabin. It is small but was big enough for the six of us. Had a nice unattached room beside the cabin that had a pool table in it. My kids and I played alot of pool. Only suggestion for that pool table room is that it would be nice if the ceiling fan worked , as it got really hot in there. And they need to get some new pool sticks. The beds were comfy and loved the big couch in the living room. Satellite TV worked great also. Debbie with Lakefront Cabin Rentals was very good to deal with. If we needed anything all we had to do was call her and it was taken care of very quickly. I will definetely be using them again next year to try out a different cabin. This was the best vacation ever!!!!!!

Sixteen of us stayed at the Ponderosa Log Cabin the last week of July. What a beautiful, well-kept cabin/home. Everything worked out perfect for us. We had no issues including the slope to the lake, the roads to the Cabin, etc. We loved the two refrigerators, washer and dryer. It would be helpful to have a few hooks on the walls of bedrooms for towels and clothes. This was a first total family, lakeside trip, and the children (7) and adults all had a fun-filled and wonderful time.

We had an extremely pleasant visit to Douglas Lake and the home we stayed in had much to do with that. Hilltop Hideaway is beautiful home with wonderful accommodations. there were a couple issues but the Lakefront Cabin staff were quick to remedy the situation and were very friendly. Hilltop Hideaway is a beautiful home and I would recommend it to anyone. I don’t normally give 5 star ratings to anything, or anyone, but I have nothing to complain about so it must be worth the 5 star rating.
Old Home Place..
Review by Family of 4 on 7/23/14 11:01 AM IP Address: 66.171.81.136
Old Home Place was a very sweet cabin. I love rustic, old things and this cabin was certainly rustic/old in a good way. The only downside to it was the overall size of the downstairs bedroom, bath and kitchen so that’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The living room/dining area was a nice size, as was the upstairs bedroom. The back porch was huge and very nice place to relax, the grill was nice and the table/chairs was used a lot during our stay. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to use the hot tub because the weather was just too hot for it. I loved all the shade trees surrounding the cabin because it was very hot during our visit. I also was pleased with easy access to the lake since the backyard gradually sloped down to it. It wasn’t such a hassle to carry things to the dock or to be able to float around in the water. My son absolutely loved the canoe (that was the highlight of his stay). The fishing dock was adequate and the area was very peaceful and quiet …. loved our visit, just wish we could’ve afforded to stay a little longer.

The view was awesome! Lake was awesome! Cabin was awesome! Vaction is about over and I pack up, load the boats, put everything in the truck, I’m ready to go! Ohh, wait I have to take out the trash, wash the dishes, strip the bed sheets off and lay them beside the washing machine. Oh and I need to tip the maid that I have already paid to clean the cabin… -1 star for that crap. Everything else is perfect, so I think a 4 star rating is fair. Thanks guys for the fun weekend!

Our vacation at Pirates Place was very relaxing and enjoyable. The home was lovely and the lake was great. It was a fairly serious (steep) hike to get to the lake, but the availability of the Tracker to use to get there and back came in handy for us “older folks”. We were vacationing with our 5 children (4 teenagers) and they enjoyed the private dock for swimming and fishing. The water in the home does have a strong smell of sulfur (eggs) but we got used to it. It was very clean and the kitchen was well supplied. Decorating was pleasant. Debbie was very helpful for any issue or question that came up.
The Cabin near the Lake..
Review by JanE on 7/3/14 10:47 AM IP Address: 50.142.49.77
First, let me say that we had a good time at Lazy Bear Cabin, and it is typical of cabins we have stayed in previously. It was pretty well-appointed, but the carpet in the living area really needs to be replaced. I didn’t much like the BEAR SKIN and other hides displayed on the wall, but that’s my taste. The decorative plates over the outlets prevented us from plugging in cell-phone chargers. The bed was extremely comfortable, and plenty of space in the bedroom and bath. The second bedroom was a little small, but overall, it was a comfortable space. Having said that, I feel that there were some things that could use some work. There are no lights over the bathroom mirror in the second bedroom downstairs. It was very dark in there. We had trouble getting the DirectTV to come on, and when I called for help, I was told she couldn’t get helpf for me for 3 hours, and I would have to use the house phone when I called DirectTV. The house phone was a wall decoration only; no dial tone AT ALL. So you will need your own cell phones if you stay here. The water tastes awful. Be sure to take plenty of drinking water. We were also a little creeped out by the security cameras all over the cabin. I understand the need for security services (I saw ADT signs on most of the cabins in the neighborhood), but there was a camera on the window in the downstairs bedroom, and I’m not exactly sure why that was needed. There was a camera on the side by the road, and a camera on each doorway. But the camera on the bedroom window was on the deck side where there was already a camera on the door. Also an interior camera on the window in the living area. The parking situation was not good. We were able to park two vehicles at the edge of the road beside the cabin, but there was no place to park off the road. All the cabins in this complex were in the same situation. Kind of dicey driving when some cabins had multiple vehicles with BOATS parked half in the road. Also…the cabin was clean, but I’m a little offended at the tip envelope left by the coffee pot when I’m asked to strip the beds, wash the dishes and put them away, take the trash out…etc. That’s after we paid a cleaning fee. Just seems to be a little over-much to ask for a tip after we pay the salary and then are asked to clean the cabin before we leave.

Really liked the cabin and the gentle slope down to the water. It was a little hard getting out of the water on the muddy bank after swimming. Noticed some upkeep had been done on the outside when we were elsewhere. The only odd thing was that there were only two forks and a bunch of plastic ones. Would definitely stay there again.
Owls Roost..

Overall Owls Roost was very nice. House was very clean, well appointed and everything worked. Screened in porch was awesome, decent view of the lake. Only drawbacks were (1) every time any water was used, in the closet in the downstairs bedroom, there was some kind of pump that made a noise that would wake the dead, and ran as long as the water did, (2) ad stated a boat dock, there was one there, but was in extremely poor condition such that it was a safety hazard. The area around it is soft enough you can beach your boat, just watch out for the sunken axle, it is marked with a white buoy. Simply because of these 2 issues I would not stay there again. We did have a good time with our kids and grandkids.

The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable, but squeaky. The covered dock was very nice, but there are a lot of steps down to it. We caught a couple of nice sized fish and several bluegill. The gate that you have to open and close every time you go in and out is inconvenient.

Melan Family Trip..
Review by Water’s Edge on 6/13/14 12:35 PM IP Address: 99.109.170.165 We loved the Water’s Edge cabin and enjoyed our stay on Lake Douglas. The cabin was clean and nicely furnished. The owners do a nice job of making the cabin comfortable and it was perfect for our family of 6. However, there are a few things you MAY WANT TO KNOW before reserving this particular cabin: #1-the walkway from the cabin to the lake is rather steep and not for everyone. It was a difficult trek for some of us and we found ourselves not down at the lake and fishing nearly as much as we had planned because of the steepness of the path. #2-the hot tub never reached a desired temperature. Even after following the specific instructions in the guide, it took a day to increase each degree in temperature. #3-the water pressure was very low and it took so long to fill the jacuzzi tub in the master bath, that we could barely get the water high enough to run the jets before we ran out of hot water. #4-the linens were of the lowest quality possible-sheets, towels, & pillows. #5-you are asked to take your own trash to the community dumpster, run the dishwasher, strip the bedding, and return the cabin to it’s clean condition before departing. When we arrived, the dishwasher was full of dishes and wet towels were still sitting the the washer. The cleaning service did however, leave a tip envelope. We felt, considering the amount we paid for a week at the cabin, this was asking a lot of the patrons. I would love to go back, but we will try a different cabin and read more reviews next time.
Ponderosa Cabin..
Review by Hollensworth on 6/9/14 10:36 AM IP Address: 66.76.207.136 We had a wonderful vacation on Douglas Lake at the Ponderosa Cabin. It was a large house with plenty of room however the upstairs (where theres 5 bedrooms needs air conditioning BADLY….The downstairs 2 bedrooms and the living area was always cold and the upstairs sleeping was not comfortable. That is the only negative thing we experience. It was close to the water and had easy access to the water and launching our boat. It was a little hard to get to by road (in the dark it would make you car sick) however I know that’s not something that can be fixed. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS of the mountains and water. The house was clean and very nice.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Cricket Lane. The cabin is EXACTLY as it looks in the pictures. It was beautiful, clean and well kept. Plenty of extras were available upon arrival such as soaps, toilet paper, etc. Lots of spices/seasonings in the kitchen, and a well stocked supply of pots, pans, baking supplies, and utensils. Had to replace several light bulbs in the kitchen and dining area, but they did have them there. Lighting is not as bright as I would prefer in the kitchen. The supply of wine and drinking glasses is getting low. Hot Tub was wonderful, screened porch was awesome, however the very bottom is not covered with screen, therefore, mosquito’s still find their way in. There is also a hole in the screen behind the grill from raccoon’s. They were quite a nuisance at night – walked out to the cooler several times to find them on the back porch. They also try their darnedest to get into tin trash cans that are tied down. Definitely need to try to get rid of them. The Mule is a necessity to get to the lake. Hill is extremely steep! Did not find much use for the gazebo, bugs were bad and just too inconvenient. A fire pit up near the cabin would be awesome!! Very nice area to visit with lots to do in the surrounding towns – something for everyone!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay the cabin was clean. Very peaceful and relaxing. The fishing was great. Since the water levels were up we were able to bring our own boat. Access to our own boat launch was great, but having a few visitors at the boat launch made us uneasy about leaving our boat tied to the dock. The over all experience was nice, I have recommended this cabin to many others. The only thing I would recommend be changed is the cleaning ladies tip envelope. If we have to “completely clean” the kitchen sweep off porches, put all the laundry in the laundry room for her take off our own trash and the list goes on, she shouldn’t have much left to do. We did not mind doing these things but seeing the envelope left on the counter was unnecessary. Looking forward to booking again in the fall.

We stayed for three nights at Lakefront Cottage. It was clean and reasonably well maintained. A little extra diligence to things like chirping smoke detectors (replace the batteries!) and pest elimination services would enhance this hideaway. Nice web presence made it easy to deal with regarding easy and convenient method of access and payment. All in all, a fair value for the price. Not five stars, but about what we expected for a country lakeside rental.

The views were spectacular! It was literally in a cove and even with extremely low water levels, we were very satisfied with the views. It was so peacefully quiet. Only nature sounds! We were still able to sit close to the lake with a blanket even with the drought and low water levels. The fishing was great! Huge catfish! Best time was around 6:30 to 7:00 pm. Will definitely visit again! Only drawback was no dock but If not mistaken, we were the first ones to ever stay in this particular cabin so…..that was kind of a neat trade off. I’m sure the dock will be there the next time we go back and we will definitely be back! Oh, and we got a little confused by directions given by lakefront cabins (not to say it was their fault). May be easier to say….pass food city and turn right on Gay Street (92 S) go over green bridge, etc… Great friendly place. The local places are really great too with friendly people. The scenery can’t be beat either! The cabin had plenty of decking and a lot of room with beautiful decor! Hard to leave! Loved everything about it! Good for kids too.

Even though the dock wasn’t floating yet because the water level remained low, we were still able to launch our pontoon at the gravel ramp next to the cabin. This cabin offers a great view and it is spacious enough you have room to spread out and everyone has their space yet you can come together for a great time. The home was clean and comfortable when we arrived. It offers plenty of room for family time. We had a great time playing games and enjoying each others company. We have rented other homes that advertised room for 13 only to arrive and find tiny bedrooms and not much living space. FunCheck is a beautiful cabin with nice furniture, good kitchen supplies, comfortable beds, good towels and an amazing view. The road leading to the cabin is a very windy, hilly road with some steep drop offs at the edge. The road was a little scary to me, but my husband drove and we did not have any problems. We did not use the lakefront area, so can not really comment on that except that it did look steep to get down there. We mainly rented for the view and the house. Thought you should know that dishes were left in the dishwasher and towels in the dryer when we arrived. Not a problem for us, just folded the towels and washed the dishes since wasn’t sure if they had been cleaned. We enjoyed our stay. It was very peaceful and quiet and we loved to look at the lake and the mountains. Rating a 4 star only because of lake access, house and view are definitely a 5 star.
Response: Lisa, Thank you for much for your comments. We love Fun Check too. Its fabulous. You have to keep in mind that we in the East Tennesse part of the Smoky Mountains so we are not flat land. You can Drive your vehicle down to the dock area instead of walking if you chose. Absolutely great place to stay. We were more than impressed with the cabin when we arrived. The pictures on the website do not do any justice to the place. The lake is perfect for watersports or just relaxing. We had 11 people staying at the cabin and we had plenty of room. Every evening, we spent our time relaxing in the gazebo. By far, the gazebo is the greatest feature of the place. The only drawback of the cabin is that there is no wi-fi. But that is just being picky. I will recommend to anyone to visit the area and stay at this cabin. Thank you!

Beautiful, spacious cabin. It was very secluded and quiet. I was pleased that it smelled and looked like it had just been cleaned when we arrived. Loved the private fishing dock and the turtles were fun to watch and feed. I didn’t like that there was public access to the lake so close to the cabin/dock since I really enjoy privacy, but we had no problem with that during our stay. The sulfur smell of the water is very apparent, but really wasn’t a huge deal to me, we kept bottled drinking water. The cost was very competitive with other rentals that were not even on the lake, so I feel that it was a good deal. We were close enough to Sevierville and Pigeon Forge that it wasn’t a hassle to drive to eat or take in a show, but it was so nice to get out of the traffic and crowds and come back to that quiet cabin (which is where we spent most of our time). We rented a boat for a few hours so we could see more of the lake and it was absolutely beautiful! We have two teenagers who didn’t once complain about not having Internet! So that says a lot to me!
Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments. We love Country Oasis too. WE all hope you come back to visit too with you family.

We stayed at the Ponderosa for a family reunion from 7/20/13 to 7/27/13. This is the third time we have stayed at a cabin on Douglas Lake. We had family in from New Jersey, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. The cabin was very large and clean. It also had a very large assortment of dishes and cooking utensils. The yard was large and very scenic. We had a photographer come out to the cabin to take family pictures. I was very pleased with the service we received from Debbie and her staff at Lakefront Cabins. The only negatives about the place was the road to the cabin and the access to the dock. The road to the cabin(Parrot Chapel Road) is without a doubt, the worst road I have ever driven on. The road condition is ok, but it has more twists and turns than you can imagine. It is approximately 3.5 miles long, but will take you at least 12 minutes to drive it. I know this is out of Lakefront Cabins control, but I wanted to make mention of it because we had over half of our party get car sick when traveling on this road. If you plan on any activities in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, make sure you bring lots of Dramamine. The other issue was getting down to the dock. The hillside is fairly steep, and then there is sharp rocks and slick clay at the bottom. It was fine for most of our party, but my parents are older(77 & 74) and weren’t able to get down there to go on a pontoon ride. Again, I know there is no way to control this with fluctuating water levels, but I just wanted to make mention it for any other “seniors”. Overall this is a very nice cabin, but I think I would rent a different one next time because of the roads.
Response: Thank you so much for your nice comments about Ponderosa. It is a wonderful property. It is windy out on the roads to the lake area and if your not use to our East Tennessee Roads sometimes it is a bit for you. Next time we will work on the option of other cabins that is not on a road as long or windy as Ponderosa. So glad you will be calling us back for another stay. Talk to you soon.
Paradise Point..
Review by Rick on 7/7/13 9:04 AM IP Address: 74.132.136.13
Paradise Point has been our family’s choice two out of three years. Eleven family members shared the large home and had a very enjoyable week. The home was chosen again because of the location, view of the lake from the home, dock for boating, fishing and swimming. Some of our family could not get to the lake due to health issues, but could still watch the Grandchildren swim, fish, ski, tube etc. from the huge balcony that surrounds the home. The outdoor kitchen is perfect for our group with five children. The upstairs shower is small but there is a much larger shower in the lower level. This second visit there had been a lot of rain and there were a few spiders and other insects that seemed to come in the home due to the heavy rain. The only other issue was that many light bulbs were out and there were none that could be found in the home, this was not a big issue but one that should be addressed. The only other issue was some mouse dropping in the storage area of the range in the homes kitchen. We had brought additional cookware so this was also not an issue for us. We did not call the manager for correction of any issues as we felt they were not significant. Other than the minor issues that can easily be corrected we certainly will consider this property again. .
Response: Thank you so much, we are so happy you enjoyed Paradise Point. It is a wonderful property. Looking forward to you visiting with us again.

The cabin was very nice and peaceful. Only draw backs were the marina location and the sulfer smell of the water other than that i recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from the busy city life for some country quietness. The turtles were a big hit for my daughter we fed them every morning.
Response: WE are so glad you enjoyed your stay with Country Oasis. Can’t wait for you to come stay with us again. See you then

The cabin and location was great. We have stayed in many places in the Smokey’s and this is our favorite. Loved the peace and quiet and access to the lake. Only drawback was the sulfur smell of the water but we had seen online in some of the other reviews of cabins that this could be an issue and had brought our drinking and cooking water. We hope to visit again. If you go the turtles love little bread balls!! Gator point marina is closest marina but the access is poor. The Barlow’s

Excellent stay…very quiet and peaceful. Woodpecker woke me up every morning @ 6am but what can you do about that? Upstairs bedroom needs a ceiling fan. These things are minor…overall great stay and would highly recommend staying here and would definitely be back in the future.

We enjoyed the cabin and the views. The area was quiet and relaxing. The sleeper sofa needs replacement. It was uncomfortable. And the water filter in the bedroom closet was noisy. With those two expceptions, this cabin was perfect. On a side note, and no reflection on Lakefront Cabins other than the link on the website, I wanted to rent a boat from Gator Point Marina. Drove over there to find the office closed. I called and left a message two days later. No one ever returned the call. So, I still don’t know if they are still in business. But the proximity was one of the reasons I picked this cabin. It was very disappointing. Brian, Marilyn, Madelyn, and Micah
RESPONSE: We are so glad you loved Sunset Breeze, so do we. There is a note on the wall By the door where the water system is. You can turn it off at night. There is a toggle switch. I have no idea whats going on with the Marina but I will sure call over there to see if i can find out. thank you for making us aware. Hope to see you again.

Our yearly family reunion was made quite enjoyable by the use of the Ponderosa cabin. Plenty of room for all. Family came from Dallas, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. As one of the cooks, I was grateful for the massive amount of dishes, glasses, and utensiles. Couldn’t find the cutting board because I was looking for a wooden one. Finally found the glass one. Discovered that the A/C did not work on the first evening. Called Debbie and was promised that it would be fixed that evening. And it was. Thanks for the super quick service. One note: there is a hole in side of the roof at the left of the chimney which let in some creature that went scratch, scratch, pitter patter in the night. Better have that fixed as I am sure you will. Great TV but not used much since we all had so much to catch up on and laugh about. My youngest (12) grandson caught his first fish and therefore earned a merit badge (he had to clean it and cook it also). Everyone had a great time. Thanks. Andy
Response: Thank you , We are so glad you enjoyed the Ponderosa. We hope you will come back to visit with us again soon.

First of all, the cabin was wonderful and the staff at Lakeside Cabin Rentals were terrific! The cabin was clean and i found that linens/towels were sufficient. The dock has recently been updated. Quite and privacy abound. The only thing i think i should mention is that the neighborhood boat ramp is right beside the cabin. Not a big deal if you are ok with meeting some local residence. I did think it was worth noting. Again, great cabin and great customer service by the staff.

Thanks for the great vacation getaway!!We could not have asked for anything different and the weather was perfect. We all appreciated the great hospitality and easy access to all basic amenities. We enjoyed every aspect of the property and would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys relaxing in the great outdoors! The 4×4 mule was a definite must for the numerous trips we made to the gazebo and dock.We will definitely consider visiting this great location again in the future.A small fishing boat would have been great because local marinas did not allow rentals the week we visited, but still caught bass, crappie, catfish, carp, and sauger from dock area.Overall wonderful stay!!Thanks for allowing us to stay!!!
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. Cricket Lane is a fabulous cabin. We hope you will come to visit with us again soon. Be sure and tell all your friends too. We would love to have them visit with us too.

Amazing!!!.. Review by Marquez Family on 12/31/12 11:39 AM IP Address: 159.63.149.146 We rented this cabin to spend 2012 Christmas there, it was awesome. It was our first time there, we fell in love with the place, everything was clean, perfect location, very peaceful. The only thing is that it doesn’t have wifi (which on the other hand we enjoyed cause we went there to spend some quality time with the family, and not having fb, email and google really helped haha); though I still think its necessary. I want to thank Debbie specially, for everything. We’ll definitely be back!!! Hopefully next year.
REsponse: Thank you Lilly. It was so nice meeting with you and your family. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you next year.
Angel Cove was heaven sent.. Review by Janejaneable on 12/5/12 11:35 AM IP Address: 96.33.129.205 Our family ventured up to Tennessee to spend a week in the mountains for Thanksgiving. We chose Lakefront Cabins and rented Angel Cove. Much to our surprise and great excitement, we found the rental to go beyond our expectations. There were fourteen of us, and there was ample room and amenities for everyone. The view and grounds were amazing. Our stay was such a wonderful experience. It has given us the best of memories for a lifetime. We all want to do it again next year!! Thank you for making our Thanksgiving 2012 the best yet!
Response: Thank you Mrs. J for such a good review. Angle Cove is a wonderful home and we so thrilled you loved it and am anxious for you to return.
Cricket Lane.. Review by VIRGINIA S on 11/26/12 12:00 PM IP Address: 96.19.181.97 Our Family stayed here over Thanksgiving. The house and property were beautiful. The game room was a huge hit with our kids. There were 11 of us in all (9 staying onsite). My main problem was that there were only 8 forks and limited serving pieces and basically no cabinet space for groceries. I like another poster thought there was just to much clutter and knick-knacks. Also the fold away bed upstairs is partially broken at the bottem. I think if you advertise that a cabin “sleeps” a certain number you should actually be able to sleep and have kitchenware for that number. We also had no blankets for the sleeper sofa or pillows. I would definitely come here again but I would bring more of my own supplies.
Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Cricket Lane. It is a wonderful home. There are blankets for the sleepers in the closets and /or end tables of each room with a sleeper. We are so sorry there was not enough forks but that has been replenished. Silverware does occasionally get thrown away and has to be replenished from time to time. The owner is coming to the home in a couple days and will go through and make sure everything is in tip top shape again. I am certain when you return you will fine everything this time.

We appreciate the extra towels you provided. We had a cabin full of ladies and everyone raved about the cabin, gleeming & so cozy. Everything was perfect, and everyone wanted the name to come back with their families. The rose you left with the birthday wish was so nice. I always enjoy staying at your properties. We made some great memories and will definitely be back. Thank you!!
RESPONSE: Hey TT. We are so glad you and the girls had a good time. It is a wonderful big place to relax that’s for sure. Its especially nice for family groups with the size of the cabin but especaially that hugh flattish yard. Can’t find anything that compares to that on the lake, that’s for sure. We appreciate you visiting with us now for several years and hope you continue to come back . See you next time !

Review by old home place on 10/22/12 10:11 AM IP Address: 12.204.217.8 The Old Home Place was a peaceful getaway for me and my husband’s 7th anniverary. The place was stocked well, the road leading to it was winding and curvey but when we got there is was worth it. It did take a minute to figure out how to get the gate open.(had to walk around gate to get key) but was easy after that. We love the lake but wish it was not the winter pool and the level would have been higher, but we know that goes with it. The hot tub was another story. We enjoyed it on the first night but the second night the hot tub would not warm up at all. When we got in it, it was only 85 degrees and we didnt get to enjoy it on our last night. Hopefully that will be fixed for the next guest. We enjoyed the quietness of it all. Thanks for that.
RESPONSE: Thank you for visiting with Old Homeplace and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We are not sure why the tub was not hot your second night. As far we we know no one had called in for it and we just checked with the guests there and its working fine so not sure what the malfunction was but it must have corrected itself. Sometimes also if you hit a sequence of buttons it sets it in a sleep mode which sits at a lower rate for energy. Possibly what happened when you were not but not sure of course. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you return to visit Old Homeplace again.

Cricket Lane – 10/6/12-10/13/12.. Review by Mrs. V on 10/14/12 6:38 PM IP Address: 74.167.4.145 We just spent a great week at the cabin on Cricket Lane. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and plenty of room for our extended family of 8. The game room was awesome for the kids (big & small). Everyone loved the hot tub too! The location is super quiet and hidden away but not too far from town. This property is very close to being 5 stars in our book but we did have to call the office about the very dirty shower curtains (which were also mentioned in another recent review we read before our stay). Housekeeping was quick to come out and take care of the problem. Better/newer linens, thicker towels & pillows would really boost this property–the linens all smelled of cigarette smoke. The house is over-decorated, cute & woodsy themed, but a little too much. We had to move things out of the way to make room to set our own things down (books, computers, food in the kitchen, etc). Unfortunately, moving things meant having to dust/clean those counters/tabletops. All the knick knacks make it difficult for housekeeping to efficiently clean a unit and things will be missed. Dust & cobwebs in many areas that aren’t good for people with asthma. Yes, there is a terrible, overwhelming sulfur smell when you turn on the hot water–the hot Fantastic!.. Review by Ol’ Fishin’ Hole on 10/8/12 1:55 PM IP Address: 174.228.73.51 I just spent the weekend at Ol’ Fishin Hole with my wife as a surprise for her birthday. Review by Miller time on 9/17/12 10:50 AM IP Address: 166.147.120.16 My husband and I spent four nights at the Old Fishing Hole. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was very clean, comfy and cozy. Had everything we could possibly need and then some.QUIET SECLUSION!! AWESOME!! Unfortunately someone removed the bench from the dock and we are to old to have put it back. But we brought our own chairs. Fishing was fun but fish didn’t cooperate!! Didn’t catch much but had a great time trying. Will definitely come back again. Well worth the money. Thanks for a great vacation! The Millers. 9/18/2012
RESPONSE: Mr. and Mrs. Miller, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Ol Fishin Hole. It is quiet and relaxing for sure. I think the wind blew the bench off into the lake so we gotta go Fishin to get it now. I am so sorry we could not retrieve it prior to your stay. The water level will have to drop a bit more before we can get it. Anxious for your to come visit the Ol Fishin Hole again.
Great mini-vacation.. Review by Calin on 9/12/12 10:04 AM IP Address: 184.163.227.202 We organized a class reunion in three of the cabins (Hilltop Hideaway, Cricket Lane, and Waters Edge). Everything was just perfect. The cabins were clean and equipped with everything you might need (we even found an extra gas tank). The view of Waters Edge cabin over the lake is breath-taken. We swam in the lake and took advantage of the close marina. A big A+ to Debbie and Linzie who handled in a very professional manner special requests

God Bless,
RESPONSE: Thank you and we are so glad you loved your stay. The Ponderosa is a great place!. Yes, the gate and keys are very easy for those like you who bring their instructions with them. We have tried really hard to make the checkin process as easy as possible. We hope you return often to visit with us and enjoy those beautiful East Tennessee Sun Rises over the lake. See you soon!
Angel Cove.. Review by Angel Cove on 8/20/12 8:01 PM IP Address: 69.73.126.101 We had a wonderful time in our lake front rental. The house was very spacious and we had beautiful views from the upper and lower decks. Our complaints for the property would be the water softening system broke down and the water tasted like salt and was undrinkable. We contacted the management and they told us they were very busy and someone would be by later in the day but no one ever showed. We had to buy bottles of drinking water for the entire last day. The hot tub was also dirty. Overall the trip was very pleasant but management needs to be able to address problems in a timely manner.
Response: Someone did come to the home. Angels Cove does not have a water system much less a salt system. It does have a filter on the well which was changed. With well water especially on the lake the wells are ever changing. taste does change from day to day. We apologise if you bought bottled water but we also buy bottled water here and we have city water. Unfortunatley a managment company of any kind cannot do anything about nature and wells and such things as that. We do apologise if one day the water did not taste as it did in the days prior. Also our hot tubs are emptied and cleaned and re filled after each stay. Again with well water it is as it is. We are so glad you enjoyed Angel Cove and Douglas Lake. Thank you for visiting.
Family Get-together.. Review by Bobbio on 8/15/12 8:07 AM IP Address: 98.28.238.99 I was pleased, overall, with the cleanliness of the cabin as well as how comfortable it was for a large group. The cabin had all the essentials to support a fun weekend. My only complaint was the terrible “rotten egg” smell of the water when the faucets were turned on. This was explained as: ” We didn’t smell any sulfur smell when we turned on the water”. Was I dreaming this? I have eleven people who will confirm what I say….Please don’t place the problem back on your guests. Just fix the problem or inform guests that this is just the way it is due to the well. Let people decide for themselves if they want to deal with the smell or find another place to stay. I give five stars for the cabin and ameneties and two stars for the booking and management agency. In the future, I will make sure to ask about the water and if there have been “complaints” about it! Oh, by the way, I noticed that this was a problem in the past with other guests! No Smell Huh?
Response: Ma’am as already explained to you most all our cabins have sulfur water. Thats whats on the lake and there is nothing we can do about that. Most all the cabins have water systems and occassionally ALL of then can and will flare up from time to time. There is just NO possibility of this not happening. And Yes, at your cabin when we went there we did not smell any sulfur at all. As already discussed with you, We did not tell you that you did not smell it. We only stated that when we were there we did not. There was no maintance on the system between the time you were there and we went in to ck it out. We did apologise to you and we did come over to check it out but if everything is working property and there was no smell when we are there there is nothing do be done. Again, we explained all this to you at the time along with the fact that all of them will occassionally fare up from time to time. You stated that you were all familiar with sulfur from where you live so the fact that its a rental does not make any different from your home or any other. Just as in your home things can and will go wrong in a rental home occassionally too. We do apologise and we have apologised to you. And Yes, the cabin is wonderful as you stated.

Hilltop Hideaway 8/3-8/10.. Review by Mr. S on 8/11/12 2:09 PM IP Address: 69.204.100.225 This was a very beautiful cabin, it had plenty of room for our nine guests plus ice cold air conditioning. The hot tub was a great feature, we enjoyed it every night. The pool table/ game room upstairs was also perfect for isolated fun. One thing to add would be another large outdoor covered garbage bin. One trash bin is not enough. Raccoons left a big mess for us to clean up one morning, they worked the cover off of the garbage can during one night. It would have been convenient to have a trash dump closer to the Paradise Landing entryway, instead of having to haul our trash miles to town. Lastly, access to the lake was not convenient; a long, steep, unpaved hill was the only way down. But once at the landing, it was great at the shoreline. I would recommend that a stone path or trailway be provided for guests. Younger guests don’t have a problem with the hill, but the older ones didn’t even attempt it. Overall, a very good experience and I would not hesitate to rent from Lakefront again! Thanks!
RESPONSE: Thank you so much and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Hilltop Hideaway. It is a wonderful home. Unfortunatley we have no say in where our county dumpsters are. They are randomly placed and nothing we can do about where they are but I completely agree, It would be so nice if there were more and that would make it easier access for all of us including the locals who live here. I will certainly pass your suggestions for the walkway to the lake and another trash can to the owner. I am sure they will get another can thats an easy fix now the pathway to the lake, I don’t know but will pass along your suggestion to them. We hope to see you again at Hilltop Hideaway in the future. Thank you again for visiting with us.
Paradise Point.. Review by Pat T on 8/5/12 8:46 PM IP Address: 174.69.203.79 Just spent a wonderful week at Paradise Point. (July 28th-Aug 4, 2012) m Cabin has an awesome view of the lake and the mountains. I agree with a previous review that the bathroom upstairs has a very small shower, but we made do. The cabin is very comfortable and very clean. Really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen. It was perfect for our group. The lake is fantastic. Very quiet. We spent a lot of time just floating on rafts next to the dock. We would definitely recommend this cabin.

Paradis Point.. Review by TN Vacation on 8/2/12 1:15 PM IP Address: 75.187.142.181 We stayed at Paradise Point from 7/23/12 thru 7/28/12. The cabin was amazing. There were 8 of us and there was plenty of room for all. The cabin was clean and had incredible views of the lake. It was exactly as described and the cost was very reasonable. The shower upstairs is small not enough room to move around but the shower downstairs was huge so the girls used that shower alot. The air conditioning worked fine it was sooooo hot I think it had a hard time keeping up so it got pretty warm at times. The outdoor kitchen in the gazebo was just as amazing. Very spacious. Of course with the heat the refrigerator had a hard time but it worked. You have to expect that when using appliances outdoors. The freezer worked well. The gas stove outside ran off a big propane tank and we tried cooking breakfast on it the first morning we arrived and didn’t get far. The tank was empty. The driveway is steep. We had a 24′ trailer with motorcycles and there was no way that trailer was going down the drive. We ended up parking at the top of the hill and the little old lady next door who owned the property was not happy about it but she let us. The men took her flowers to say thank you and she didn’t even seem to happy about that. Sometimes there is no pleasing someone! The lake was clean and the dock was large. I wish the water would have been a little cooler. It was like bath water but you couldn’t control that. All around it was very nice and comfortable and everyone was pleased. We would rent from this company again!
RESPONSE: Thank you so much for your comments and we truly appreciate you understanding with temps of near 100 heat does effect lots of things. I surely wish all guests would just for a moment think about that. We are so glad you enjoyed your home and Douglas Lake and we hope you come again to vist with us soon.
7/24-7/26/2012 vacation .. Review by angels rest on 7/28/12 11:07 AM IP Address: 166.248.65.213 House was beautiful inside and out, but looks can obe decieving. Neither tv had a working dvd player. Our second day the upstairs air conditioning went out. Called the office and they said it would be the day after we were to leave before they could get an ac technician out to the house. When we were leaving the ac man was pulling up, so we were lied to. They had a large group arriving that day so they put forth the effort to get the place ready. Already had my money so i just had to deal with it being 88 degrees upstairs. It said it the instructions for the house not to change the thermstats, which we did not. But shows they were already having issues with the out dated ac units. I would suggest not to use lakeside cabin rentals, look for some place more professionally kept up.
RESPONSE: Yes, your air did go out in the upstairs floor of the home. and when they called in to us we immedately called the heat and air company to check them out. Just like you at home we have to call in for a service call and they get there as quickly as possible. I realize when your on vacation you never want anything to happen nor do we but real life is that something can and will go wrong just as it does in your own home. So for anyone to say that a person or a company ruined their vacation because something broke when they were there is just unrealistic. We all know that we all have things to tear up in our homes and these rental homes are homes just the same your ours that we live in. There is no possibility of nothing not ever happening. We do apologise when something goes wrong but making the repair is all we can do. We cant prevent it nor can any other company or person
. Old Fishing Hole.. Review by Old Fishing Hole on 7/16/12 10:25 AM IP Address: 192.109.145.42 Property was very clean. The best part of the whole experience was the seclusion and privacy. If you want to be where the action is then this is not your place. I loved it. Will go back. I do have a couple of suggestions to improve the experience. The toilet is not very tall and the seat slid from side to side making it very difficult to use for those of us tall folks with bad knees. There also was no toilet paper holder. I would suggest adding a grab bar and some more hooks or towel racks in the bathroom as there really is no where to hang clothes, toiletry bag or a hand towel.
RESPONSE: Thank you for visiting the Ol Fishing Hole. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and the privacy. We will pass along your comments for your added comfort to the owner of the home. We will be looking forward to your return visit with us. Thank you again for visiting
Old Fishing Hole.. Review by Walling on 7/10/12 6:05 PM IP Address: 67.141.21.63 Our family stayed at the Old Fishing Hole during the fourth of July holiday week. The cabin is very nice inside and out. The rooms were all clean and tidy. The only surprise was a small childs t-shirt sticking out from under one of the beds. (We did not have any small children with us) We got down on the floor to retrieve it and the underneath of the bed was really dirty. Probably just an over-site on the cleaning service but it was a bit surprising. The rest of the cabin was so clean. The cabin is an older cabin but it had anything that you would need in it and you can tell that it has been taken well care of. The view of the lake is great. The dock with the bench was perfect for relaxing and fishing. We plan on returning to the Old Fishing Hole for another great vacation.
RESPONSE: Thank you so much for visiting Ol Fishing Hole and so glad you enjoyed your stay.WE do apologise that one of your beds was not gotten under prior to your stay, there is no excuse of course for this but July is a very very busy hard summer and unfortunatley sometimes our cleaning staff may forget something along the way. We look forward to having you to visti Ol Fishing Hole agan soon.
Angel’s Rest.. Review by Green on 7/7/12 6:44 AM IP Address: 65.26.152.45 The house was beautiful and was a perfect size for our entire family. The amenities were good too and the cottage was a great get-away for us each night. One suggestion, put lids on the trash cans to keep the racoons from getting into the trash bags every night.
RESPONSE: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Angels Rest and on Douglas Lake. OH those critters~~ we have put lids, and bungee cords, new cans and new kinds of hinges. They chew away anything we put there. Racoons and opossums and squirrels all reak havack on our trash. WE certainly hope the Green Family will visit with us again. Thank you so much for visiting.
Hilltop hideaway.. Review by Hilltop Hideaway on 7/5/12 5:11 AM IP Address: 71.56.76.197 Wonderful Cabin with all the amenities you can imagine – including two crockpots! This cabin had worked out well for our two families and besides having enough bedrooms had more than enough bathrooms! The cabin was clean and the bedding comfortable. Plenty of room in the dining area for our families and we never ran out of glasses, plates or silverware! The children especially enjoyed the pool table! The access to the lake was more strenous than we had prepared for and were unable to take our elderly mother down to fish. It was not the length of the walk it was the precipitous climb. If you are elderly, have asthma or a heart condition then this walk to the lake would not be recommended
Angel Cove cabin.. Review by Karensaw on 7/1/12 1:01 PM IP Address: 98.69.171.24 We loved out time atAngel Cove. The view was beautiful, the cabin was clean and well stocked. We had 3 couples a d 5 kids and it worked well. The kids had downstairs and adults up! The deck was wonderful and the dock great for our pontoon boat. The hill to the lake is very steep but we were fine. Thanks for your hoitality. Well be back.
Great View!!!!.. Review by Sunset Breeze on 6/26/12 7:28 AM IP Address: 184.18.118.116 Sunset Breeze is a very nice cabin in a great location. It was very clean and well stocked with towels and dishes. As mentioned before, the water conditioner in the 2nd bedroom is very loud and runs every time you use water. I would definitely rent this cabin again.
RESPONSE: The well water has been replaced by city water so the water system is no longer in the home. So glad you had a good time.
Last Wagon stop.. Review by M & T vance on 6/19/12 1:27 PM IP Address: 208.102.109.68 Had a great time! The boat ramp was a little steep but ok. The only complaints would be that we ran out of gas in the grill before we finshed a meal and the ice maker didn’t dispense ice but other than that the cabin was great would stay here again. This is the second time we’ve stay in Lakefront Cabins. Several years ago we stayed at Sunset Breeze. We will definitely use Lakefront Cabins again in the future.
Old Fishin’ Hole.. Review by A and K on 6/17/12 4:30 PM IP Address: 67.140.196.220 The Old Fishin’ Hole was perfect for what we sought: a place for a quiet family reunion for three adults. Three days of rain didn’t bother us because the wonderful covered porch let us be outside to read, play cards and catch up. We wished we’d been the avid fisherpeople the place deserves with its dock and secluded cove, but enough bass were breaking the water that we were glad they’d be there for the next person. And our only visitor was a great blue heron making his rounds morning and evening. Many thanks to Debbie and her crew who were responsive to us both before and during our visit and thanks, too, to Cindy’s Cleaning Service . . . they ALL do great work.
Ponderosa.. Review by Recent stay at the Ponderosa on 6/17/12 10:46 AM IP Address: 204.250.15.8 We just recently stayed at the Ponderosa for 6 nights in early June. Our extended family from Florida joined up with my sister’s family from Wisconsin. The 12 of us had plenty of room. Loved the view of the water, all bedrooms but one had a view of the water! Great log home feel and furniture was pretty nice and beds comfortable. Some of the floors are unlevel but not a problem getting around. Only problem was my Mom is 82 and she had a hard time getting into bed because it was so high! Also, there was no chair for her to sit on to dress/undress. A couple of small issues- bunkbed had loose bolts and was swaying, property management sent someone out right away to tighten the bolts. One of the bathroom doors locked by itself and someone came out first thing in the morning with a key and tightened the knob so it wouldn’t happen again. Loved the huge charcoal grill/smoker- have never seen one so big. Used to gas grills but it worked great! We spent a lot of time on the porches looking out at the view and used the campfire. It was so beautiful and peaceful. My suggestions for improvement would be the following: Add more large casserole dishes, better cutting knives, at least one bed downstairs lowered for the elderly, ice maker didn’t make enough ice-had to buy our own, more modern tv in the pool room, couldn’t figure with the remotes. Lastly, the 17 people it holds includes two folding beds which are in bad shape. Even with our toddler, we had to add pillows under the sheets to make it softer. Plus I wouldn’t recommend the bunk beds for anyone but children as they are a little unsteady even after the bolts were tightened, someone heavier would probably not work. It really sleeps only 14 comfortably. Overall, we had a great time and plan to come back in the future!
Paradise Point.. Review by Paradise Point Rev62012 on 6/11/12 12:03 PM IP Address: 74.188.48.10 Paradise Point is a nice cabin, but a little dated inside and out. The bathrooms were small and not suitable for older guest or handicap persons. The couch and love-seat need replacing as they were broken and not operational. The location is great and the lawn was nicely cut. All in all, we had a nice time and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Douglas lake is a beautiful place this time of the year!
Driftwood.. Review by BroHam on 6/9/12 12:11 PM IP Address: 66.184.138.47 The Driftwood was a great cabin. Our first time up at Douglas lake was just wonderful at this cabin. Was perfect for the 8 of us (5 adults and 3 kids all 5 and under). Had a great time fishing even though we only caught one keeper catfish. It was so peaceful. Felt like we were the only ones around. Would definitely recommend this place for a great family vacation.
captain happy’s.. Review by mary on 6/9/12 6:29 AM IP Address: 184.34.28.100 just spent a week at captain happy’s and have such mixed reviews. when we first opened the door the smell of sulfur water was extremely powerful. no matter how much we ran the water in the home nothing fixed it. Needed to use bottled water for cooking and brushing teeth. the home itself was nice upstairs but had a couple issues with the downstairs/gameroom area. The temperature there stayed warm and did not cool off until sometimes ten oclock at night which would have been fine but the windows had no screens so opening them for fresh cooler air couldnt be done because of all the spiders/cobwebs. the only other thing that needed fixing was the steps on the dock to get out of the water. the kids had no problems pulling themselves out but the adults did because the ladder that was there only had 2 steps on it — if there was one or 2 more steps in the water would have been easy to do. The home itself was nice though, fully stocked with kitchen items, movies, books. we will go back to tennessee for vacation but just think that for the money we paid that we could have been told about some of the very obvious problems especially the smell.
RESPONSE : Mary We are so sorry about the sulfur water. Captain happys retreat along with most all our cabins do have sulfur water but also have systems to take care of that. sometimes any of them will flare up. If we know about it we can and do call the water system people. When you checked out and our cleaners went in they smelled it also and called the water people and it was taken care of promptly but again we can’t do that if you don’t tell us when it happens. I do apologise. The air conditioning downstairs~ i have no idea. Its working fine and we have not had any repair so I do not know what the issue was when you were there. Ladder for dock. Most cabins do not have ladders as this is a problem with the flucating water levels when they get low. To have 2 steps in great. That is not something that is very workable with our levels dropping as low as they do sometimes. I am sorry this is not good for you but again almost no cabins have ladders .
Relax at Cricket Lane.. Review by Cricket Lane on 6/1/12 8:44 AM IP Address: 69.47.142.172 Had a great girls vacation time at Cricket Lane Cabin. Cabin has plenty of space and amenities. Each room had its own bathroom and king size bed. Beautiful sunsets over the lake made each evening the best on the screened in porch.
Old Home Place.. Review by David and Haley on 5/21/12 10:14 AM IP Address: 128.219.49.14 We’ve rented from Lakefront Cabins multiple times, but this was our first stay at the Old Home Place. It’s a small cabin that sits right on the lake and is perfect for a couple (hot tub!) or small family. It’s in a gated community and has about 2 acres of woods surrounding it, so there is plenty of privacy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend any of the Lakefront Cabins. We’ve always had a good experience renting through them.
Review By Paradise Point on 5/20/12 we just stayed at paradise point on the lake, we had a wonderful time the cabin was very nice and we enjoyed the view, lake, fishing and shopping in town we will be back in a year or two. thanks again and hope we left the cabin in good order. The Chapmans
sunset breeze .. Review by suset breezen on 5/7/12 3:16 PM IP Address: 99.10.212.53 this was our 4th year at sunset breeze and we hope to return next year, the pepole at lakefront cabins are so nice and willing to help if a problem should arise, the house has always been so clean for all our stays. And the view of the sunsets are amazing and the price isnt bad either. we have come to think of sunset breeze as our second home. I love the country setting but still having the conveniec of stores, entreainment and restaurants just a short drive away. And having our own private dock is plus for the pontoon we rent at gator point marina. Ernie & Wendy Kelley
Long time renters of Chapel Cove.. Review by SaraVard on 5/1/12 12:41 PM IP Address: 68.152.9.254 Chapel Cove was lovely as always. Clean, convienent and great lake access. My husband and I have been coming down since our honeymoon in 2007. We have always enjoyed this little cabin. This year, however, we did run into a little hiccup. When we come down to this cabin, we are almost always fishing. Chapel Cove has a great launch and dock just a few yards from the cabin. Two of the days we were down, however, the launch was blocked. My husband was quite upset and tried to contact the owners of the cabin/launch, but no luck. He ended up having to drive about 20 minutes out of his way to launch as there are no launches close to Chapel Cove. This really ruined our little mini vacation this time around. I don’t know if the owners did not realize we were staying or are just not used to guests using the launch, but either way, we were dissappointed.
Response~ Saravard, I have tried calling and emailing to you. As it turns out a neighbor has parked in the road next to the ramp as he did that again when the owners were there after you left. They talked to him and he will not be parking there any more. We are so sorry for your inconvience.
Cricket Lane.. Review by The Long Family on 4/9/12 5:21 AM IP Address: 173.95.174.124 We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The mule was wonderful (and very necessary – that hill was very steep!)
The fishing off of the dock was great for my boys, and my husband loved keeping his boat at the dock. Very convenient. We had breakfast in the gazebo, we love the view from the hot tub. We used the upper deck for enjoying the afternoon sun and my kids could not get enough of the game room. We stayed over Easter week and the house was decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with spices and such! What a wonderful vacation and what wonderful memories – thank you so much, we will definitely be back! **Note for the fisherman who will rent the cabin – we caught Bluegill, Carp and Catfish off of the dock, we caught Largemouth, Smallmouth out in the coves off of the boat.
Bennett Bunch (Sun. 3/25/12—Sat. 3/31/12).. Review by Paradise Point on 4/2/12 10:38 AM IP Address: 4.225.22.238 The Cabin was clean, spacious, and had every thing we needed for a wonderful and relaxing stay. The weather was warm and sunny, and made for a great time. The Douglas lake was beautiful, my husband caught fish both out on his boat and at the dock behind the cabin. Our family had the best vacation staying at Paradise Point and we can’t wait to go again! We definitely do recommend this cabin for any one’s fun, rest, and a relaxing vacation! Debbie was so helpful, and made everything so easy for us to arrange our stay there, Thank You Debbie! We had an added bonus while packing to leave and got to meet the owner Wanda, A great big THANK YOU to Wanda for offering such a beautiful and well kept Paradise Point for my family to enjoy!
